A Mini Modern House

The reveal date for our forums THING is here and I can reveal what I have spent the last few weeks working on, but only if you don't tell my daughter as it is one of her Christmas presents.

It started life as a red roofed childrens dolls house like this one but with broken furniture.

After many coats of paint I managed to get it white and then I turned to repairing improving and  repainting all the furniture. I added a sink to the bathroom unit and carpet to the bedroom and living room, together wih lights in all rooms.

Reveal Date Looming

Every year usually more than once a year, a group of friends all work on a top secret THING, I haven't joined in much before as I haven't had the time but this year I have as my THING is doubling up as one of my daughters Christmas presents.

On the lead up to the reveal date we tell each other clues and we all have to try and guess what the others have made. This reveal date is this weekend so I have been working hard to get it all done and all I can say is I never want to see another pot of white paint again. It has taken so many coats its unbelievable.

My clues to my THING are
White
Triangle
ReCycle
Leaped Print
Nigella
Not Christmas but may have a hint of it.

I can't give you any more than that now until the weekend but once I have revealed it I will out it here for you all to see as well.

Feel free to add your guesses here...

Spike's Brother and Sister Have Safely Arrived!

Spike is a very happy teddy this morning as his brother Buster and Sister Lucy have arrived from Bearcabinminiatures and he has happily been showing them around their new home.

Spike decided because he was there first he is going to have the comfy bed and sent Lucy and Buster off to find there own places to sit.

Lucy very quickly decided that she  would like to sit by the window as she liked the flowers and was eager to know what goes on outside of the house

Buster took a little longer deciding where he was going to settle, he tried lots of seats and shelves out but eventually decided he didn't like heights so he chose to sit on the floor next to the fireplace and Elvis picture.

Soon Boy came over to see who had moved in and have a sniff

They have all settle in nicely now and after having a sneek peak back through the windows I thought Spike looks a bit lonely upstairs on his own, but he assures me he's happy

Whilst down stairs Lucy and Buster where deep in conversation

Trying Something New

Ive been pondering for the last 12 months as to whether or not I would be able to work with fimo, so because I didn't want to spend out on a material that I may not be able to work with and to be honest all the different varieties somewhat baffled me a bit so I tried a bit of Blue Tac sculpting. I know its a very strange thing to do and believe me with the stickiness of it, it wasn't easy either. I managed to make something that half resembled a human and a good friend very kindly sent me a sample of some sculpery to see what I could do with it. I sat down this evening and gave it a go.

I thought you might all like to have a giggle at my feeble attempts, Im going to keep practising as with the forecasts showing snow I'll have a lot of long dark nights to fill.
